to the
10th Music in Rhodes Festival,
one of the best-loved classical music festivals in
Greece, taking place this year between Wednesday 16
and Sunday 27 September.
This year the festival celebrates its 10th anniversary and welcomes the famous Sofia Sinfonieta, who will perform two concerts, the first along with the Rodian quitarist and lutist Stathis Skandalidis in two Vivaldi concertos, and the second directed by Rodian comoser Philippos Tsalahouris, playing his own works. For the third concert we will have Attica Plucked Instruments Orchestra in a program full of wonderfull melodies from the Italian and Greek bell canto. After that and for the first time we present you the festivals first staged Baroque cantata, Benedetto Marcello's "Cassandra" with Latinitas Nostra Early Music Ensemble, under Marcellos Chrisycopoulos, directed by Argyro Chioti and scenographed by Pol Thanopoulos. And for the closing of ou rfestival we have invited the well known Norwegian Chorus Sølvguttene, under the direction of Fredrik Otterstad, in their first appearence in Greece. |
